Discover the Location
Escape the everyday with a break on the breathtaking Loughros Peninsula, a narrow strip of land reaching out towards the North Atlantic with stunning views of waterfalls, caves and white sands. A patchwork of pastures and pretty white-painted properties line the quiet lanes here, leading in one direction to the dramatic point that overlooks Loughros Beg Bay and in the other to Ardara, a designated Heritage Town with welcoming inns, tasty eateries and a busy calendar of festivals throughout the year. Sitting on the Owentocker River, Ardara is also a well-known centre for the manufacture of Donegal Tweed. To the south, Killybegs (14.5 miles) is Ireland’s largest fishing port and the embarkation point for boat trips along the Donegal coastline.
